QPI is a national movement of foster care system change, made up of a network of states, counties, and private agencies committed to ensuring that all children in care have excellent and lasting relationships so they can thrive and grow. A network of sites works with QPI staff to transform child welfare systems. QPI is part of the Youth Law Center, a 501 (c)3 tax exempt organization, based in San Francisco, California.
Launched in 2008 in Florida, today over 75 jurisdictions in 8 states have participated in the QPI approach. Three principles are at the core of our work: the prioritization of excellent parenting and meaningful, lasting relationships; the use of research; and putting those with lived experiences at the center of our work.
The QPI team is a group of creative, flexible, strategic advocates, driven by a deep knowledge of systems, a commitment to community-driven programs and informed by a diversity of backgrounds and experiences.
